I’m back with another shopping guide, this time around we’ll be going up north to check out what kind of shopping you can expect when travelling to Toronto, Canada. If you’re a new subscriber to the SNLetter, the shopping guide series is a new segment where I show you my favorite places to shop with a breakdown of what you can expect from each store — The first guide I did was for New York City, which you can read here.
Shopping in Canada is picking up, with Toronto being one of the places to go to if you’re looking to experience some big-city shopping within the country. Obviously each city has something different to offer, but I find that Toronto has a pretty solid rotation of stores that offer various shopping in one city.
In today’s newsletter, I want to highlight some of my personal favorites that I stop at every time I’m in the city and what kind of shopping you can expect — we’re talking menswear, streetwear, vintage, and more! Plus, at the bottom of the newsletter you’ll find a link to over 20+ stores you can shop at the next time you visit.
HAVEN
If you’re staying downtown then Haven is going to be a short trip that you’ll have to add to your holiday itinerary. Enjoy shopping in an open-concept store filled with some of the best brands money can buy — it really gives this luxurious feeling that you don’t really get from other stores, mix that with a few higher end brands and it’s a whole vibe. Being able to see brands like Visvim, Sacai, Stone Island, Neighborhood, WTAPS, and much more in person really helps paint the picture of what premium garments really are.
On top of that, definitely need to check out Haven’s in-house line which started taking off in the last few seasons. Seeing the pieces online is one thing, but being able to put it on to truly understand the level of materials and craftsmanship will make you want to add this brand to your wardrobe.
Visit their store at 190 Richmond St E Floor 2, Toronto, Canada.
IN VINTAGE WE TRUST
One of the best vintage stores I’ve ever been to. A highly curated selection of goods, with constant restocks of fire keeps things fresh and exciting. The best way to stay up-to-date on what’s dropping is by following them directly on Instagram. The insanely knowledgeable duo that run the shop will help answer any vintage related question — we’re talking about history, construction, and everything in between. I’ve actually learned so much about the vintage game thanks to Josh and Chantal, the masterminds behind In Vintage We Trust.
Shop vintage military, sports, movies, music, seasonal items, footwear, books, and so much more — the list really goes on. They’ve also recently expanded their shop to hold even more inventory, so you’ll need to take a look. An absolute must-stop for anyone visiting the city.
Visit In Vintage We Trust at 1580 Queen St W, Toronto, Canada.
