Just when I thought I was out...
One does not simply keep their wallet safe when there are so many good drops up ahead.
Latenight letters hit differently when they come from the only blogger that stays up in the evening in hopes of cooking the freshest recommendations. Our first newsletter was a great success! A lot of you ended up hitting the DMs saying how much you enjoyed the content, and I was overjoyed by the feedback, so I had to do my best to come back with yet another SNLetter—(catchphrase still pending)—as quickly as possible.
It’s really tough out here, for our wallets that is. There are always too many drops that are hard to pass up, and this letter isn’t going to help that situation.
SUPREME IS BACK?
Okay, I already know what you’re going to say, “sUpReMe nEvEr LeFt BrUh!!!” yeah sure, it didn’t if you’re a 16-year-old by the name of Jacob or something. But for some of us, the HYPE TRAIN had passed, and we had to move on to other brands. To simply put it, Supreme started making stuff that just didn’t interest me. Don’t get me wrong, they still drop some great items here and there, but for me, that doesn’t happen often. That was until this morning when I received the expected The North Face collaboration announcement email:
I’m not a fan of all-over Supreme prints because they are usually tacky, but this one is different! I threw up my favorite pieces above, but the collection is pretty solid overall. Obviously, the fleece here is #1, but I don’t even need to go on to explain why because you already know.
Releasing this Thursday, 11 am est, but you already knew that ;)
To be honest, I wasn’t actually going to consider anything from this drop until I saw this meme floating around the feed:
It really made me realize that we need to start taking back what’s ours—in this case, it’s wearing Supreme unironically again. (I say this because I bought a box logo hoodie last week—manually…yes you can still do it manually so I don’t ever want to hear excuses people!!!—and I have been heavily considering actually wearing it. A social risk for someone who is in their late 20’s. More to come on this later).
MORE CLOTHES
Awake NY and Sam Friedman—a New York-based artist and not a fictional character like Google suggests—have come together to make some tasteful outwear that may be loud for some, but perfect for others.
The collection is dropping exclusively through the Awake Instagram account on December 15th, 11 am EST. (Shopping on Instagram is not for me, so seeing this drop being exclusive to the platform is bleh). I really enjoy the pattern here, but I wish they could avoid using the Patagonia logo. It’s 2021, we can do something different while letting Patagonia sleep in peace.
The big hitter for this drop is the fleece set (tote bag is a close second), but for $250(fleece) and $235(pants) USD, I am respectfully going to pass. Things aren’t cheap these days, I get that, and we salute companies that do things right, but you can’t be out here spending $500 on fleece sets every damn week:
THIS WEEK HURTS
The highly anticipated Salehe Bembury x Crocs collaboration is finally dropping tomorrow—December 14th at 12pm EST / $85—and although this one might be more on the affordable side, what might hurt is getting that dreaded L.
Salehe has been giving out early passwords for drops, which you can get by signing up on his website here. You should expect the email with the password about an hour before the scheduled drop time. There’s also still time to hit the raffle on END, but don’t rely on this too heavily because it’s usually hard to hit a W on these. Best of luck to all!
Alongside the Crocs collab, Salehe is dropping clothes from his personal brand called, BE A SPUNGE—It’s a cute name. Drop is happening at the same time and on the same website. I am a big fan of the bottoms, but I will have to warn you these things are CROPPED (I attached a photo below for reference, and if you’re into that sort of fit then you’re in luck, but if you’re not then well you’re not copping lol). So make sure you read those details on the length/inseam/whatever before you hit CHECK OUT!
A BRAND YOU SHOULD KNOW
PHINGERIN is highly underrated, and I think it’s due to the fact that a lot of people just don’t know this brand exists. I have to apologize in advance because some of the items I’m going to show you from their latest collection are SOLD OUT, but their products are carried all over so be sure to visit their store list.
Really big fan of the simplicity, the lack of graphics, and branding on all of their pieces. They typically add a slanted red bar—their personal branding staple—but it’s not always added, which I like! Smash the follow on their Instagram so you don’t miss out on their next drop.
ANOTHER ONE
Ah yes, you’ve made it to the part where I click baited you to read this newsletter. If you made it this far, congratulations, you are about to learn a little sweet secret of mine—an amazing outdoors brand called go slow caravan.
The brand itself feels all over the place. They have amazing outerwear that really feels like it was geared towards the outdoors, but then they will follow up with an amazing knitted collab that definitely won’t last long if you went camping with it.
I’m having a lot of fun going through their catalog, as they offer things that could be labeled a bit too crazy it just might work type vibe. Yes, they offer worldwide shipping which might cost a little bit extra, but you’ll have a certified piece that nobody has ever seen in their life. (things might be a bit different after this newsletter, whoops).
THE HALF COZY LIFESTYLE
Sometimes the coziness levels need to be scaled down by ensuring proper air circulation throughout the entire fit. (I’ve definitely been in situations where I got a bit too cozy, aka sweaty because I layered too much). This is why vests are ideal for layering when your sleeve game is just too bulky. Brigade’s next drop is exactly for that. The reversible aspect of this vest is just an added bonus, which I am never going to complain about—I mean, what’s not to like about a piece that has 2 visions??
Dropping online Dec 24th.
