Wake up babe, streetnightlive newsletter just dropped!
The hottest recommendations straight to your inbox
Starting out a written piece is never easy because I have no idea how to properly say Hello. Consider this my way of saying hello! I come bearing gifts in newsletter form, and the gifts are recommendations. Please bear with me while I figure out the formatting/brand/whatever else that I might need to do for this newsletter.
CLOTHES CLOTHES CLOTHES
It’s not a streetnightlive post without the mention of at least 1 fleece. Lucky for you, I have secret information—which isn’t that secret at all—regarding a very interesting fleece coming from 18 EAST.
At what point do you say to yourself, “You really need to stop buying fleeces, they all look the same and there is no space in your closet”. I am not actually sure if I have the answer, but I am definitely getting there in terms of cutting down on the number of fleeces I buy, but until then I will be sitting front and center on the FNLRR - Fleece Night Live Rollercoaster Ride. (Not sponsored by Universal Studios)
As of right now, there is no info regarding the release of this fleece, but I will blast a tweet as soon as I find out more information.
Since we are talking about fleeces that warm our SOUL … what about fleeces that warm our FACE? Ok, let me explain!
I apologize in advance because my algorithm has been taking me down a road that isn’t accessible to many. Yes, I’m talking about buying clothes from Japan. It’s not my fault, I swear! I just followed a lot of different accounts that feed me pure GOLD BARS, and now I am sharing these GOLD BARS with you:
Diawa is strictly about fishing. They’ve been doing their thing since 1966, and if this headwear piece says anything, it’s that this brand knows what they are doing. Just like every other brand nowadays, Diawa has a subdivision in Japan, and that is where all of the good stuff is. I know it’s a bit complicated/scary/EXPENSIVE to buy from overseas brands, but it really isn’t all that bad.
I am going to drop the link to the headwear here. (I highly suggest you check out a proxy service called FromJapan, I highly recommend it. Yes, you will need to pay a little bit extra for the service, but it’s like <$20 depending on the amount the product costs. You send your $$$ and give them the link to the item you want to purchase, and they do it all for you. The last time I used it, I had no hidden fees or the DREADED paper labeled “DUTIES”. Of course, this was a while back so things might have changed, but if we want to look GOOD we need to pay the price).
NOT A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
I’ll be honest, I usually don’t accept gifts from brands because I feel bad, and I’d rather support the business with my money, but the boys over at Entry Level, LLC were persistent, and I’m glad they were.
I recently got this hoodie, and I have been enjoying every second of it. It’s extremely cozy, the design is playful, and it reminds me of the fact that I am an adult in this machine we call LIFE, which forces us to pay these things we call BILLS:
As the subtitle suggests, this is not a paid advertisement because I am genuinely impressed at the quality vs the price of this piece. Highly suggest checking out this brand because you will not be disappointed!

Brain Dead has blessed us with wintery goodness for its final drop of the year. What I love about this brand is how consistent their drops are in terms of uniqueness. Yes, like every other brand they offer fleeces, cozy sweaters, and whatever else, but they do so with their own twist that matches their brand—and that’s why I never feel bored when browsing their shop.
I think the most interesting part of this collection is all the amazing womenswear!!! If you’re an active follower of the twitter account, then you’re already aware of my love for Stussy Women’s. While Stussy fills a tiny portion of a larger gap in streetwear for women, Brain Dead continues to fill that gap with their own vision:
If you have the chance, and the $$$ of course, I highly recommend you go through the latest collection because I’m sure you’ll find something that you’ll immediately need to have.
PORTER DOES SOMETHING… GOOD?
Remember these??
After this collaboration was announced in 2019, I quickly had to run to twitter to voice my opinion about these shoes. It just seemed silly to have this many pouches on shoes. Fast forward to 2021, PORTER is still making collaborations but this time around it’s not all bad.
Fans of Studio Ghibli—I’m guessing there are a few here—are in for a treat as PORTER announces its latest collaboration highlighting My Neighbor Totoro! Releasing December 10th via DSM Ginza, and Studio Ghibli Museum:
And with all of THAT being said, this concludes the first streetnightlive newsletter! To be transparent, I hope to have one more newsletter out before the end of 2021 because soon enough I will be enjoying the holidays, and the recommendations will be put on a simmer. Not to worry, the high heat will be applied in 2022!
Nice job, exposed me to some brands/pieces I would never came across before.
Love the newsletter, got me onto thisneverthat and looking forward to future jawnz on your radar!
