Sales used to be special, it was an opportunity to snag something you’ve been waiting on for a minute but at the time the retail price just didn’t let you justify that purchase. Now sales seem to be happening more frequently and lasting longer, which means that there are way more garments to go through when you’re online shopping and nobody has time for that—except me of course.
Today I went into the depths of the best sales that are actually worth checking out and turned that into a very digestible list for all of us to enjoy. No, we aren’t going to be talking about specific stores and what sales are going on, but instead, a look at a bunch of great garments that are on sale and are worth copping.
I need to put this out there, good garments cost money and while some of the items in today’s newsletter will come at good discount prices, there will be pieces that still might seem expensive to some even with a discount —don’t stress though as there’s something for everyone, even a pair of shoes for as low as $18… a STEAL!
PANTS FOR THE LOW
Mountain Research is a brand that I always keep a close eye on. Their take on traditional styles that blend the outdoors create a nice unique take on the pieces they put out. The cuts on their pants are of classic trousers, meaning that there is a little bit of room to breathe in but they are not overly baggy in their fit.
The first one on the list is their classic 5-pocket jean that comes with some outdoor detailing — one of the back pockets comes in a mesh finish, which might feel a bit impractical depending on what you’re trying to carry there, but it’s a pretty neat detail.
The second pair of pants are pleated trousers in blue which don’t come with any crazy detailing and are as basic as its going to get. I do enjoy the fit on these though, which comes with a lot of space at the waist but slim slightly down to the leg opening. They also come in a cotton satin which is much lighter than traditional cotton — will be a good option for those who need to wear pants for an event in the summer.
Both are currently available on sale via Haven.
The next pair comes from Daiwa, a brand that actually started out in the fishing business in the 50s but in 2020 they introduced Daiwa Pier39, a more fashion-focused line that has been really enjoyable to follow. These are going to be perfect for those who are looking for maximum comfort and a proper baggy fit.
Daiwa is not cheap, but the high level of quality and overall construction of their garments really makes up for it — when I saw these on sale I just knew they deserved a spot in today’s write up. These chinos come with 5 pockets and an elastic waistband, my favorite detail making these the ultimate chillin’ bottoms. The coin pouch is a nice little touch in case you need to carry anything tiny… like the cartridge for the new Zelda for example.
I will say this, double check those measurements because the length on these isn’t for tall people! You’ve been warned. Available to buy in various sizes via Haven.
MAISON MARGIELA FOR CHEAP?
Ok, so I obviously don’t really write about designers like this because it’s insanely expensive. Sure, you can sit on SSENSE to secure that deal, but nobody has time for that. I will say though, when a good designer sale comes across my lap then I have no choice but to pay attention—especially MM6.
I recently wrote a sandals newsletter that has a bunch of amazing styles to let your dogs out with, but at the time I didn’t see this particular one so I’m writing about it today—
