Casual options for spring
A shoe drop you need on your radar, sunglasses I like right now, jewelry options, belts to elevate your style, and more!
Been getting hit up with a lot of requests for some spring/summer attire, so I had to come correct with this week’s recommendations. Luckily, there have been a lot of really fun releases that should get our brains working as we figure out what we will be rocking once the sun is out.
In today’s newsletter, I have a little bit of everything. Shirts and shorts for the heat, footwear that I’m excited about this summer, more bag recommendations because I know you want them, taking a look at some jewelry, and some stuff in between as usual.
Before we dive into it! Make sure you’ve entered this week’s giveaway to win up to $750 to shop at one of my favorite stores. Full details can be found here. Winners will be picked next week!
The weather in Montreal is finally starting to pick up — just the other day I was rocking nothing but a hoodie, can you believe that? Yeah, we get shafted when it comes to enjoying the warmth, but we survive either way. Now that the heat is on the horizon, I’ve been brainstorming what I should rock once that temperature hits.
My mood this summer is a button-up with shorts, mix that with some leather footwear and it’s a wrap. That idea will probably evolve over time but until then I have the newest collection from thisisneverthat on my list for inspiration.
Thisisneverthat is quietly dropping heat and nobody is talking about it! What’s up with that? Their latest collection just dropped, filled with shorts, summer shirts, tees and whatever else in between you might need to get yourself equipped for the heat — the best part is, this stuff isn’t going to break your bank. The quality is pretty solid considering the price, and to me, that’s a win.
They also have a nice range of bags that are worth taking a look at if you’re in the area. If you’ve never bought anything from them before, I say go true to size. They do offer a slightly looser fit on their garments, but that all depends on your body size, so if you’re unsure, just play it safe and buy the size you usually wear.
Shop their latest collection on their website here.
If you’re someone who loves rocking a simple fit but wants a little bit of flare to take things to that next level, then you should invest in a good belt. There is a brand on my list that’s making some amazing belts, but they are not cheap. When it comes to an accessory like this, I’m actually down to spend more money because it’s going to be one of those items you’ll wear literally every day, so you might as well just splurge a little if you can and get something that you’ll enjoy wearing for a long time.
The cowhide spider studs belt by Mannahatta NYC is the epitome of luxury. White bronze detailing across the belt, mixed with 100% Japanese cowhide is chef’s kiss. For reference, I have a pair of Japanese cowhide shoes and those things look brand new even though I’ve been wearing them for 3+ years now. This specific leather quality is just something you need to experience for yourself at least once.
The spider belts run in different gem colors and various sizes, which you can shop directly at Mannahatta NYC — if you’re in New York, then pop by their store and check them out in person, you will not be disappointed.
I understand though, the $500 price tag is definitely insane and not for everyone — but I know we have a few big ballers who read SNL so this recommendation isn’t getting lost in the void. If you’re looking for something cheaper I strongly urge you to keep your eyes out on Stussy belts — there are a few in their store right now, but I’m not really feeling those particular styles if I’m being honest — they usually drop some heavy hitters in their new collections, but they end up selling out pretty fast so you have to act quick.
Another great set of alternatives to some good quality belts can be found over at Our Legacy. Now these are a bit skinnier in style, which is nice but it depends on what you want from a belt. These next ones are going to be more than half the price of the Mannahatta ones, and there are also a few different style options to choose from.
