What to buy this week
New spring footwear bangers from Mephisto, Keen, and Deviation. Checking out collections from Paratodo and Earth\Studies, drops you don't want to miss, and more!
Closing out the week with an array of recommendations to get you ready for spring. Everyone is talking about tariff this tariff that, I’m just tryna get a fit off in peace!! Anyway, things may suck right now but at least we can still look good. In today’s newsletter we have a bunch of spring footwear options to enjoy right now, new collections from great brands, good casual pant options that are ideal for all of my corporate folks, and more as usual.
Today’s newsletter is free for everyone to enjoy, so go get it, and support those independent brands because that is very important right now!!
18 EAST + MEPHISTO
Everyone is talking about the recent New Balance Allerdale—which is great, don’t get me wrong—but there’s a true banger on our hands for the real players. For this latest collaboration, 18 East combined the elements of Mephisto’s Rainbow and Break models to create the Break Spectrum. For the unaware, Mephisto’s comfort game is unmatched, and the premium leather construction is designed for you to enjoy these for a very long time. One thing to note is sizing down a full size is recommended for these joints. Most Mephisto’s run large, so .5 to even a full size down is a good call.
The 18 East Mephisto Break Spectrum releases Friday April 11th at 11 AM EST via the 18 East website here, and at their NY store location.
NO MAINTENANCE NEW DROP
Some classic menswear is on the forecast! No Maintenance is dropping a new spring collection that’s geared towards that classic menswear style a lot of you are obsessed with—some good outerwear pieces and bottoms will be going live on their site on April 11th, 11 am PST. NM makes really solid clothes, especially considering their very reasonable price points. Quality and designs continue to get better with time, so it shouldn’t be a surprise if we continue to hear more of this brand in the future. You can go with your true size on these pieces, and expect a pretty relaxed fit that’s not overly baggy but isn’t skinny either.
WHERE DO I GET THESE?
The good homies at Deviation are back with some spring footwear for all of us to enjoy. Currently it seems as these leather joints down below that I spotted on their gram aren’t ready for US customers, but I’m hoping they will become available soon. No stress though, as their international website has plenty of GAT options that you can get right now here. These are custom made to order and require two weeks to make. So make sure you’re aware of that before pulling the trigger. But on the plus side, the prices includes duties and taxes and most importantly are of great quality.
EARTH\STUDIES
New gear from the good people over at Earth\Studies is for those who are looking to add something a bit more technical to their wardrobe rotation. I really don’t want to get into the tariffs and how they will affect the fashion industry discussion, but supporting small brands is extremely important right now. Earth\Studies is one of those brands that are pumping out great quality goods that are worth your money. I think what the guys over there are doing is great and I would love to see them around after all the dust settles in the world. So, let’s support them!
Their newest collection is out on their website now, with some of my favorite picks down below.

PARATODO SPRING ‘25
New season from one of my favorites went live about a week ago and it’s filled with a bunch of great gear for spring. Shirts, pants, tees and more are now all up on the site. Some of my favorites are down below, but definitely give the full collection a proper browse. Fans of colors and unique textiles will be right at home as Paratodo continues to push their wild patterns to the next level—oh and all of it is priced reasonably? A true hidden gem that everyone will enjoy.
KEEN + PILGRIM SURF SUPPLY
Let’s switch things up and do a little hiking moment real quick. For this latest collab, Pilgrim is focusing on the Jasper Zionic in this nice soft clay color that looks great on foot. I think that the ecom photos don’t do this one justice as they look even better in person. These also come with some alternative laces if you want to switch up the vibe. Go with your true size on these ones.
These are currently available directly on the Keen website with sizes all the way up to 15 mens!
SAGE DE CRET PANTS
New styles just got re-upped over at Lost & Found and I definitely recommend acting fast—sizes tend to sell out pretty quick and I’m sure it’s not going to be different in this case. Great variety of styles for a good price makes for some solid purchasing decisions. Sage is great at utilizing various materials in classic cuts to bring us very simple, yet effective pants for everyday wear. Not too baggy, but still room to breathe in—perfect for the office or just simple life living.
MADHAPPY + NEEDLES
We got a fun little collab on our hands. Big fan of the tracksuit that has some really playful lace trimming, tie dye pieces for all my hippies using Needles’ traditional garment reconstruction technique. Madhappy does a pretty solid job at making hoodies that fit great and are fun to lounge in—my Gap + Madhappy hoodie is still in my daily rotation. That fit and soft cotton is enough to win me over, so I’m expecting good things from this drop.
The Madhappy + Needles collab is dropping this Thursday, April 10th, on the Madhappy website.
Love seeing the Jasper Zionic Pilgrim collab get some love here! I had a great time helping bring this one to life. Appreciate you calling out that they look even better on foot than in ecomm pics. It’s always about the real world wear!
Thanks for the shout 🗣️
