What To Buy This Week

Good morning and good afternoon to all my fellow clothing addicts. Writing newsletters have been a blast lately, and with the continuous growth of our paid subscriber base, I’ve been motivated to continue to write even more recommendations for all of you on a regular basis—granted, this is based on if there are things to write about because sometimes the clothing releases feel dry, and that makes it difficult to create content.

Alas, let’s get right into this week’s What To Buy/Things You Should Be Aware Of Because It’s Dropping Soon newsletter because there is a lot of good stuff to cover. In today’s newsletter, we are diving into new upcoming collections, more cardigans because everyone is making some right now, good heat with J.Crew, waterproof pieces that will have you ready for the rain, and a bunch more to get our wallets busy.

BRIGADE USA’S RAIN JACKET & SHORTS COMBO

Crazy patterns can only work well in certain scenarios, and I feel like Brigade’s use of patterns for this next release was executed perfectly. This jacket is for the “I’m on my way” vibe, it feels fast, and athletic in a way, yet it’s very much streetwear that looks great—I feel like I can wear this for my biking marathon at 3 pm and then wear this to dinner at 8.

While I like the shorts, I would have loved to see how this set would look if the bottoms were pants—but also, it’s kind of fun to have a short and jacket combo, I feel like we don’t really see that combo that often. The jacket is the standout piece for me personally, which comes with white zipper detailing. Sometimes patterned pieces look good with black zippers, but sometimes it might be better with a white one, it’s hard to say really but regardless, the white detailing on this jacket worked out perfectly.

This set alongside some other items will be available for all of my New York people at the Brigade 8 Year Anniversary party on October 21st. All event details can be found here—I’m sad to miss this event, but if you’re a local definitely go out and show the love and most importantly connect to the community of great people. It’s going to be a fun night!
