What to buy this week
Bags that are perfect for short trips, a 3D printed shoe that I actually...like? Plus, a private 20% off sale with Insatiable High, and much more.
We have a bunch of fun stuff to go over today; bags that are perfect for short trips, a pair of 3D printed shoes that might actually be worth trying, a sunglasses brand I’m curious about, where to get some good made-in-USA basic tees, a pair of shorts I’m buying this week, and much more.
Oh! Paid subscribers will also have a chance to get access to a 20% off sale on great garments from Insatiable High.
I started out the week by thinking about what makes a good travel bag. Some trips call for a suitcase, but sometimes trips are quick, and that means we don’t need to haul a massive bag with us. A good bag goes a long along way. This is an item that can really level up your everyday experience—plus, if you’re going to have nice clothes you should probably make sure the accessories match the rest of the vibe.
Anyway, below are a few recommendations on bags that are great for shorter trips.
If I’m traveling for 1 to 2 days maximum, then the The Hender Scheme shoulder bag is going to be my first option. Hender Scheme’s products are crafted at such a high level that I know this is something that’s going to last for decades.
Plus you can easily use this bag as a daily commuter if you wanted to. It’s nice that it’s large enough for me to have 1 simple outfit change, room for a laptop and some toiletries. If I’m looking for slightly more space for me to carry a few looks, then I’m looking at the OOAL Surf Camp Duffel. It’s actually currently on sale over at Nanamica for $160.
Everyone deserves a solid duffle in their life. They are practical, easy to pack during travel, and hold a lot of stuff if your folding game is on point. Anyway, the OOAL duffel comes with a few extra mesh pockets on the exterior for extra storage, crafted using a water-repellent nylon. Great for those rainy camp days. The Klättermusen Mimer Duffel bag is another great option. I always enjoy a bag that uses more technical fabrics. I find that they tend to hold up better, and just last way longer. Plus, Klattermusen products are always priced fairly, especially for the quality you get in return.
TUESDAY JACKET BY STORY MFG
Ok, it seems extremely silly to write about jackets in the summer, but everywhere I look right now, racks are filled with fall gear. What’s up with that? I feel like I’m blind to summer gear, or does it actually feel that most stores I go to are showing me fall gear?
With that being said, when an opportunity presents itself, it’s hard to say no. That’s how I feel about the Tuesday Jacket by Story mfg. that just dropped.
The perfect green does exist, and it’s this moss checkered pattern that I am obsessed with. The hand woven cotton is light and malleable, so you can expect a very comfortable fit that softly drapes over your body. It’s also going to be pretty breathable.
Available directly on the Story mfg. website here.
Story mfg is also currently having a 50% off sale on two Tuesday Jackets in different fabrics here.
GREAT GEAR FROM THE WEST COAST
Insatiable High is a brand focusing on delivering more elevated menswear items. They originally caught my eye a while back when they did some tailoring in a past collection.
It’s a brand that I’d say is elevated menswear, but can also be worn just as easily in a casual way. It all depends on your personal execution. They recently dropped a bunch of great stuff for the summer, and I just want to support a great independent brand by sharing the brand with you.
Show them some love and make sure you follow them on IG here.
