What To Buy This Week
The "perfect" white tee, cycling-inspired knits, chore coats, great belts, and more!
I’m back with another set of weekly recommendations that your wallet might not be a fan of. Layering season is approaching soon and that means we have to start shifting our minds towards fall — ok, I know that a bunch of us are still enjoying the summer, and that’s totally cool, but the outerwear garments are flooding my screen and I can’t ignore them!
Today’s newsletter is packed with an array of garments that will have you looking fly for all sorts of climates. We’ll be getting our toes wet with outerwear that is geared for that muggy weather, an upcoming drop featuring some bicycle knits that you need to know about, a great basic tee that is perfect for those who wish they were Carmy from The Bear, a bunch of belts to elevate your accessory game, and some stuff in between as usual
Plus… The SNL Store List - a highly curated list available to our paid subscribers of where you can shop online - has been updated with new stores!
THE PERFECT TEE
The idea of finding “the perfect tee” is kind of silly to me. Sure, there are great shirts out there but I don’t believe that the perfect tee is actually a real thing. We all have different needs, standards, and body types, which means that not every product might work for everyone. Technically speaking, a lot of tee’s could be potential contenders for “the perfect tee”, it all just comes down to trying different tees to see what works best for you. With that being said, I want to point you to the right direction to hopefully make your search much easier.
The recent obsession of trying to find what tee Jeremy Allen White is wearing in the show The Bear has created an interesting dialogue around where to get good quality tees.
For me, the most important part of any tee is the neckline. How is it constructed? Will it stretch after a few wears? Will it compress after a wash? There are some great ones out there that hit the mark but a lot of tees often miss this detail which makes me never come back to their product. The Real McCoy’s Gusset Tee does the job well in this department. Inspired by 50s athletic gear, this tee comes equipped with a handsewn gusset which minimizes any potential neck stretching. Comes in a pretty standard shape, which fits true to size, and comes in a midweight cotton, making this a perfect shirt to layer with, or just wear straight out.
A DROP YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT
The good folks over at Brigade have been busy at work with their recently Pre-Fall collection, which has already dropped on their website here. Now, they are gearing up for their second drop, featuring a tee, a great leather belt, and bicycle inspired knits that have been on my radar since the moment I saw the teaser.
