So I’ve been trying to figure out a way to restructure this series because I’m kind of over being bound by how I’ve been selecting top items in the past—for the unaware, the ratings were set by the best-performing posts on Instagram that month. I don’t want to feel pressured to constantly post stuff for the sake of posting, leading to oversaturation and posting stuff that isn’t even that good half the time. So, I’m going to lean into my personal opinion a little bit more to select “the best” items for that month.
End of the day it shouldn’t change things much, and I’m sure you don’t even care about the logistics as long as we all get to enjoy good clothing. Right? Anyway, before we dive into today’s list, here are a few articles that you should check out if you haven’t already that I really enjoyed writing this month:
I’m also running a limited-time promo: Get a 2-week free trial on all paid content. A lot of work goes into these articles. I don’t use any affiliate links because giving you honest product reviews is at the core of the newsletter, so consider subscribing to help me continue to make even more consistent and better content for everyone to enjoy!
Everyone went crazy for these jackets. I mean, I get it, those colors are too nice. Sadly, it's a Japan exclusive but I have already had a few of my homies tell me they put this on their list for their next trip to Japan. Hit eBay if you want something like this though, it’s out there!
BODE JOCKEY SWEATER
Classic Americana will always be a vibe for many of us, I just wish it didn’t cost an arm and a leg to own something like this, but what are you going to do? For now, I’m going to enjoy this from the comfort of my screen.
RICE NINE TEN RUGBY KNIT
One of the many great bangers from the upcoming FW25 season. No release date yet, but should be coming sometime later this year. Highly recommend checking out the rest of the season, which is available in the “We can all learn a thing or two from the past” article featured above!
HOKA U SPEED LOAFER
The Sneaker Loafer hybrid battle continues. This time, it’s Hoka who’s taking a slice with the U Speed Loafer. Listen, I was kind of iffy about these, but then I put them on feet, and everything changed. I’m even surprised at myself but I am honestly down with the vibe. They look so good on feet, plus it’s fun to get out of your comfort zone once in a while. Expect these to drop very soon!
ADIDAS CHINESE NEW YEAR KNITS
These had everyone in a chokehold, and rightfully so because these are really sick. Sadly the Chinese New Year pack is exclusive to China, but I’m hearing whispers that something similar might be hitting the shelves over in North America soon… I guess only time will tell.
FUGAZI DOVER STREET MARKET EXCLUSIVE
A huge moment for the brand! Fugazi is now stocked at Dover Street Market. Some exclusives hit the shelves in celebration, which are unfortunately sold out, but I am excited to see what kind of exclusives the Fugazi team has in store for DSM in the future.
CARHARTT WIP + SACAI
Ok, I know this is a full collection rather than an item, but I don’t care. I know that each one of these will hit the Top 10 this year without issue. Incredible stuff. It’s rare to see a continued partnership deliver amazing products season after season—in their case, I hope this collaboration never ends. So good.
SCHOTT + DICKIES
Sometimes all you need is a simple workwear banger to get the job done. Schott Japan has a lot of heavy hitters like this, so I would definitely recommend keeping your eyes close to that division—again, we’re missing out in North America but what else is new?
ROA NEAL — FW25
I should have asked but I am pretty sure this is an updated version of the Neal model… I might be wrong though. Either way, the FW25 footwear lineup is crazy good, and I can’t wait to add these to my rotation when they drop later this year.
18 EAST + GOODHOOD HOODED FLEECE
My favorites are back with another collaborative hit out of the park. 18 East can do no wrong, and this one was exciting because this was the first time they brought the brand over to the UK. A much-needed expansion, in my opinion. Excited to see how their brand grows over the water.
