Before I begin the first edition of The Cardigan Report™, I must come clean. Yes, there have been rumors about my general opinion about cardigans. They’re great and I like a lot of them, but lately, there have been too many to cover and it’s starting to feel a bit boring—it’s not actually a bad thing because we get more cardigans to choose from, but are we at a tipping point of having too many cardigans already?
While I plan on taking a break from cardigan recommendations, shifting my focus on new styles, I figured this would be a good time to give you the only list you will need to satisfy all of your cardigan needs for the foreseeable future—and let’s be real, this won’t be my last time talking about cardigans.

Built To Last
If you’re looking for an investment piece—something that is probably going to be in your closet for a long time—then Beams Plus is going to be a great place to get started on your cardigan journey:
While some of the styles can feel a bit more classy, it gets a lot of fun trying to dress down the cardigan and make it more streetwear. Alternatively, Beams offers a variety of different patterns that covers a lot of different vibes.
BIG PLAYER$ ONLY
This hand-knitted cardigan by STORY mfg is going to turn heads for a very long time. The illustrations are my favorite details here—need one myself because this would make for a good gardening outfit.
I won’t lie this one isn’t cheap, but if you’re looking to support an ethically run business then consider giving STORY a chance. Their story is very interesting and I definitely encourage everyone to give it a read to better understand the brand’s vision, and why things cost the way they cost.
BUDGET FRIENDLY!!
Dressing on a budget is tough, but when you find a good piece you end up wearing it non-stop. For only $100, this is going to be the perfect way to enter into the cardigan scene—This piece is surprisingly not that bad considering the retail price. A good budget piece overall.
SOFT GOODNESS
I’ve been looking at this cardigan for a bit now, and I am not sure if it’s just the photo but Noon Goons can have all my money because this cardigan looks extremely soft. Sea Foam colorway—definitely an interesting name—is the standout for me, although the black & orange could definitely do well during Halloween season.
ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RIVER
Thames has always been a fun brand for me to watch. The collections seem like I’m going out to some scholarly event, followed by a quick stop at the skatepark after. This cardigan is of quality and will be a staple piece in anybody’s wardrobe.
For around $200-ish, this cardigan is actually priced pretty well compared to many others within the same realm of brands.
THE 70s ARE BACK
While the pattern on this cardigan by MCQ really caught my attention originally, I was really interested at how baggy the fit was. This cardigan would work well with any relaxed-vibe fit—something that I can never say no to.
The pattern itself gives me 70s, which is great because with the return of 70s furniture I can now also look the part.
PEAK GRANPA CORE
If you’re looking for the final boss of all cardigans, the grandpa core, cane walking, swag talking fit god, then this cardigan from thisisneverthat will be the only piece you’ll need. Priced under $200, this will be the perfect cardigan to fulfill all of your grandfather vibes you’ve been looking for. A perfect cardigan if you’re looking for something a bit louder.
Unfortunately, a lot of these colors are sold out but I managed to find multiple sizes in brown and black! (Links will be at the bottom of the newsletter).
ONE MORE FOR GOOD MEASURE
Wanted to finish up the cardigan report with a brand that not a lot of people seem to be looking at. I’ve been following Corridor for a little bit now, have even tried to pieces myself, and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and overall fit of the garments.
This brand seems to have a good variety of simple designs like flat colors, and fun knits like the brick wall one on the left.
