Teeing off with Metalwood Studio
Plus, exclusive access to a private sale for their newest collection.
There has been so much new gear recently that it’s been hard to keep tabs on everything going on — this is not a complaint though because it’s always great to have variety that touches upon different subcultures within fashion. Golf has been a recent subculture that I’ve been exploring and thanks to the friends over at Metalwood Studio clothes have been nothing but fun.
You might recognize this LA-based brand thanks to its iconic camo hat that has been worn by some of your favorite tastemakers and celebrities. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg because while they are focusing on elevating the golf space with specific attire and other gear, they’ve been also creating pieces that are a lot of fun to wear on and off the course.
The Metalwood Camo hat is such a staple that you might have to fight someone to get one yourself, luckily I got some early insider information about an upcoming drop that will help you get an advantage over everyone else — no release date just yet, but follow them on Instagram to stay tuned for the info:
I won’t lie, I’m not insanely tapped into golf as a sport but I have nothing but respect for it, and if I’m being honest I do have a pretty deadly swing so don’t let me get on the course. With that being said, Metalwood’s online presence has not only made me obsessed with their clothing but also with the idea that maybe I should start golfing myself.
Looking good will make you feel good, and that means better performance in any sport — that’s just a fact. Being able to also rock the same fit after the session to a dinner or a couple of drinks with the homies is just a cherry on top that creates natural wardrobe versatility. That’s where I think Metalwood shines in their collections, they make stuff for golfers in mind but also if you’re not one you are still more than welcome to rock their stuff, and that’s exciting.
If you’re new to the brand the first thing I suggest is going through their Instagram. I can spend hours trying to explain the vibe but honestly, that’s something you need to discover for yourself. At the end of the day, it’s a solid crew of good people who share a passion for golf and fashion who have created their own space to bring their brand to life, and they are having fun while they are doing it — and to me, that’s what fashion is all about.
Let’s dive straight into the good stuff. For Spring/Summer ‘24, I connected with Metalwood to bring you a look at their newest collection, including an exclusive private sale for their first drop — to all my free readers you’ll be able to get 10% off your purchase, and to all my paid readers you’ll be able to get 20% off! More information on this will be at the bottom of today’s newsletter — now let’s check out the clothes:
You can check out the full lookbook for Drop 1 here. Consisting of light jacket, hoodies, tees, pants and accessories, this collection gives us a nice little head start to start shifting into spring mode. Personal favs have to be the Elastic Waist Baggy Pants and their headwear — Elastic waistband mixed with belt loops are perfect for those who want something casual that can also be dressed up with a nice belt, the cut is perfect for anyone looking to keep things roomy in the legs. Hats are a staple but most importantly the shape and brim are one of my favorites in the game — I’m so picky with hats but I find that Metalwood has nailed theirs and anytime I see anyone wearing one, it always looks great.
Here is a full look at the first drop that’s currently available on their website now:
This is just the beginning of the year for Metalwood, so definitely suggest locking in by following them on Instagram here to stay tuned on their upcoming drops — they have a lot of great things that sell out pretty fast so make sure you don’t miss out on any potential heat from them. This past Paris Fashion Week I had a chance to also catch up with the crew and see some of the upcoming clothing in person and I’m super excited for people to see what they’ve been cooking. There’s a lot of really great stuff.
