Last week I asked the followers on Instagram what recommendations everyone wanted to see on the newsletter—if you don’t follow the ig account, I highly suggest doing so as the content is a bit different compared to the twitter! A lot of great suggestions came through like camp collar shirts, summer footwear, and lots more—don’t stress, all of those will have their moment in the newsletter soon, but the one request I saw the most was recommendations for sunglasses.
Sunnies is one item that could definitely elevate your outfit to the next level if you have the right pair to do it with. There are a lot of options out there, and a lot of them are quite expensive honestly—there’s just something about paying $400+ dollars on shades that I don’t really vibe with. I like going out, and being stressed about scratching/dropping some expensive shades in the process isn’t really the vibe for me.
While this newsletter will recommend you some brand new glasses, I have also taken the time to create my own list of shades that are worth checking out on grailed—link to this list will be available to paid subscribers at the end of this newsletter!
CRAZY SELECTION
While the clothes are usually amazing, Brain Dead also offers an array of different sunglasses that are definitely worth keeping your eye on. If you’re looking for sunnies that stand out then Brain Dead will probably be the brand for you. While they do offer simple frames, the main attraction has to be the crazy pattern frames.
Each pair of shades all have the same price at around $180—I know that might be a lot to some, but I highly recommend spending a little bit more because this isn’t a piece of clothing that you will wear and store after it losses its “freshness”. A good pair of shades will last you years to come, and it’s worth spending a little bit more for quality that will last!

AN OLD CLASSIC
Oakley is no stranger when it comes to Moodboard Exposure, and with the recent re-introduction of their retro styles, it's going to be an Oakley summer!
Like most sunglasses-oriented brands, Oakley has a lot of different styles to choose from, and while a lot of them are quite ugly they do offer some low-key heaters. I’m a big fan of vibrant color lenses, so naturally, I was drawn to the brown and blue metal sunglasses, but the black eye redux shades (on the left) might be the favorite out of the 2 styles.
Available on SSense:
Metal Whisker Glasses: Brown, Blue, Black
GREAT STYLES
Stussy’s glasses come in 3 different styles, a pretty small selection, but if you’re looking for some thinner frames then their selection might be for you. These are perfect if you’re looking for translucent frames to add to your summer fits.
A CLASSY ALTERNATIVE
I’ve always been a fan of the shapes offered by Retrosuperfuture. While they are more on the pricier side, you won’t be disappointed with any pair you end up choosing from this brand. The hardware is great, and they do collaborate with a lot of different brands like Bape, VANS, and A-COLD-WALL—just to name a few.
I picked 3 of my favorites because there are too many styles to choose from, but I definitely recommend going through their catalog to see if there is anything else you might love!
Available on SSENSE, and Retrosuperfuture: Zabedia, Issimo, Colpo
A CHEAPER OPTION
These next shades from Colorful Standard are priced at around $100—good quality glasses below $100 don’t really exist. Places like Urban Outfitters will probably be the best place to start if you’re looking to spend < $50.
This is the go-to brand if you need something more affordable that focuses on more traditional shapes that aren’t too crazy!
Available on END, Colorful Standard

Sunglass 04 - Ivory/Black, Black/Black, Orange/Orange
