The summer vibes have officially landed here in Canada, which means it’s time to put away our layers and focus on what really matters: Summer Shirts!!
Luckily for us, there are a lot of really good shirts to choose from right now. Different materials, cuts, details, whatever it is, it’s probably out there and I am here to give you the round-up of what I think are the best shirts to have in your closet right now.
If you’re looking for more than just shirts this summer, The Shorts Report will be a great place to start your recommendations journey.
EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW THIS ONE
One thing that I have to give to Uniqlo is their consistent ability to deliver simple pieces that fit the current vibes. I don’t care what your style is, this open collar shirt will be an amazing addition to anyone’s rotation.
This shirt seems to be available in specific regions, so if you have a Uniqlo around you look for the “OPEN COLLAR SHORT SLEEVE SHIRT”. Some online stores might be sold out, but you might get lucky so it’s worth a check!
If you don’t end up securing the shirt above, then the Marni x Uniqlo collab will be something you should keep your eye on. Luckily this drop hasn’t happened yet but it should hit the stores in late June—enter the Kevin Garnett “why would you show something I can’t have” meme here.
SIMPLE BUT GREAT
4SDesigns has been having a moment recently, and if you haven’t heard of the brand I highly recommend you check it out. These next set of shirts are pretty simple, but I am a big fan of the green colorway here—green has also been having a moment recently, at least for me. I’ve slowly started re-introducing this color into my wardrobe and I’ve been loving every minute of it.
If you’re looking for a similar cut to the Marni x Uniqlo shirt, then this will definitely be a great piece to consider. This shirt is available in a variety of sizes in a bunch of different stores—I’ll have them listed below. Sorry in advance if your size is sold out but I am sure you could find it if you do some digging.
4SDesigns - Green / Black, Mr Porter, Notre - Green / Black
A BRAND YOU SHOULD KNOW
Paratodo has been one of my favorite brands to watch recently, and I’m excited to see where the future will take them. Their next drop features some great tees, hats, and shorts, but the standout piece has to be the laced shirt.
This shirt has me ready for summer!! Love how the lace isn’t too much where you can’t see the nipples, but enough for the breeze to be let in—a perfect combination if you ask me!

A HIDDEN GEM
I’ve been following Mask for some time now, and while the store focuses on curating an Americana Style collection, they do offer an amazing variety of shirts that will make you ready for the summer—on a budget too!
You can browse all the shirts from the store here. There are a lot of great pieces for under $100, which is honestly a steal in today’s clothes-buying market. Keep in mind that you will most likely need to spend some time on the measurements of each piece because since they are thrifted pieces, so they will vary in size.
SOMETHING LOUDER
I am always online, which means that I am constantly exposed to new recommendations, but sometimes missing the most obvious drop seems like a joke to me. With that being said, this Halftone Flower Shirt by Stussy should have been recommended a long time ago.
Perfect for those who are looking for something louder—I’m a big fan of the colors, and the actual print is a lot of fun.

THE PERFECT COCKTAIL SHIRT
This next shirt is strictly for Cocktail making—or at least that’s what Howlin wants them to be. Reading the description for this piece actually made me chuckle, does this mean that could convert to better sales? It just might.
Obviously, you can make a cocktail in any shirt, or shirtless for that matter, but I am enjoying how this brand is having fun with it through their descriptions—because clothes/fashion shouldn’t be a chore, but a moment that was filled with fun that you can look back on.

BIG TOWEL ENERGY
I am pretty sure I’ve said this before, but I will say it again—Every person needs to have at least one terrycloth piece in their rotation. It could be a shirt, hat, shorts, whatever!!
Lucky for you, Palace just dropped a variety of terrycloth shirts that will have you ready for those beach days.
There’s nothing better than a towel after a swim, but sometimes the sun is beaming so much that putting on that terry piece is all you need—this is why I am recommending these shirts from Palace. Once you experience that terrycloth moment after dipping into freshwater, you won’t regret it.

ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SPECTRUM
This week’s recommendations were pretty tame in terms of patterns, so I figured it would be best to go out with a bang. These next shirts from Fucking Awesome are for those who are ready to make a statement when they walk out the door.
These patterns are wild, and most likely aren’t for everyone, but if you’re down to take a chance to have a wild piece in your collection then these shirts from FA will be great.
