Recent pickups that helped me get out of my fashion funk
Ungatekeeping a brand I'm excited about, rediscovering old pieces I've forgotten about, what shoes I'm wearing this summer, and more!
Since my last newsletter on getting out of a wardrobe funk, I’ve been hard at work reorganizing my entire life—mainly my closet, but you get the picture. I’ve really been bored with the clothes that I had rinsed and repeated way too many times, so I needed a complete closet refresher. Anyway, this funk left me with an excuse to pick up some new pieces that brought a different vibe to the table. I’m feeling refreshed, energized, and most importantly, excited to get dressed again.
In today’s newsletter we’ll be checking out some of my recent purchases I’m excited about, a new brand I recently discovered that sort of blew my mind, what shoes I’m adding to my summer rotation, and much more as usual!
RECENT PICKUPS
I started my wardrobe refresher by acquiring some new pants—because there’s no such things as too many pants in the rotation, plus I just wanted something new. I actually hit my first ssense in-person appointment because I wanted to avoid being a victim to online shopping once again—even though I technically had to online shop in order to find the pieces for this appointment in the first place, but whatever.
For my first pair I ended up going kind of crazy. I picked up the Stone Island Cotton Tela Trousers which are part of their recent Marina collection. Built using this extremely soft cotton that stacks really nicely. No belt loops on these, but you do have drawstrings at the waist and leg opening for additional styling. Single pleats at the front gives it a bit more texture around the thighs. Back pocket has very subtle branding—no badge on this one, which I honestly prefer better.
Several back pockets can be found at the back, with one of them having a branded snap button. I honestly haven’t used them much myself because the front ones have more than enough space for my stuff—but these things do have a lot of storage which is a nice plus.
Haven’t purchased a new Stone Island piece in such a long while, but when I put these on I knew I had no choice but to grab them. Extremely happy with this purchase. I would say that these are definitely worth your money. Go with your true size on these!
