Palace Winter '22

Reviewing the newest collection and sharing some of my favorite pieces!

Woke up today feeling rejuvenated and ready to talk about some clothes! Palace blessed us with the range for their upcoming Winter ‘22 collection, which is having its first drop later this week. I don’t know why, but recently I’ve been really feeling Palace and their most recent drops—maybe it’s because of my personal style shifting back to the original skater energy that I’ve had since I was like 13, or the fact that Palace is finally abandoning the massive trifergs that we used to see slapped on the majority of the pieces, either way, I’m down!

In today’s newsletter, I wanted to go over some of my favorite pieces from the collection as well as what items I will be going for this winter season!

FIRST AND FOREMOST

Palace is good at a bunch of stuff, their knits have great variety, accessories are pretty fun, and their line up of sweats will keep you busy choosing the right color for you, but the brands standout category, at least for me, has to be the outerwear.

The Balaclava Puffer is a re-release that we saw a few seasons ago, which is a drop that I regret sleeping on. Luckily for me, I will have another chance to secure one for this upcoming season. While pretty simple, I do love removable Balaclava that comes with it—now all is left is to choose my color. Right now, the copper colorway is speaking to me.

This is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of outerwear; GORE-TEX and PERTEX materials used across majority of the pieces will keep you dry, which is honestly perfect for me here in Canada. While my favorite outerwear piece right now is the Balaclava Puffer, the Pertex Work Down Jacket and the GORE-TEX Cap Jacket are items that you shouldn’t skip out on.

GORE-TEX Cap Jacket is actually crazy. I know that the built in cap isn’t going to be for everyone, but I’m really into this design, really fun.

Pertex Work Down Jacket is going to be underrated.. It could have done without the triferg, but what can you do.

THE KNIT GAME

Knits are hot, and Palace knows exactly how to do them right with their own lineup. I’m glad that most of the knits come with low-key to no branding on some pieces—minus the patchwork sweater with that triferg on the sleeve, but at least it’s on the sleeve and not smack down in the middle of the damn thing.

Each piece above comes in their own range of great colors, but the ones shown above are my personal favorites.

RANDOM PIECES

There’s obviously a bunch of other great stuff out there, and while I won’t be talking about every single item, I figured it would be best to give you a round up of some of the individual pieces that I’m really feeling—I usually skip out on pants because, well I just have too many so I have no choice but to skip out, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t heater bottoms for you to enjoy.

This one should have been in the jacket section of the newsletter, but oh well. Really simple piece, I kind of like the quarter zip up, even though it’s not as practical in day-to-day situations where you need to take your jacket off often.

The Cordura Modular Jacket is really sick. Cordura material is clutch for that wet weather, and having the option to change the look of this piece is fun. Palace went with the Engineered Garments vibe with the amount of pockets on this one which is cool.

Contrast stitching is an automatic cop for me. This one has to be my favorite colorway out of the lot, but for those interested this one comes in Blue, Grey and Black.

This reversible cap is one of my favorite items of the season, allowing you to switch up the vibe on the go, bring the flaps up, or just rock it down, the choice is yours! Comes in a white color as well. This one might be a sleeper, but I won’t be surprised if it sells out quick when it drops.

Palace always drops funs scarves—one of my favorites that I ever owned was the Princess Diana one, and honestly I’m pretty sad I sold it.

This concludes my round up of Palace’s Winter ‘22 collection and my favorite pieces from the collection. Of course, we have to remember that this is just the base collection and that there will be a bunch of collaborations—Palace has really been in their collab bag recently, so I’m definitely excited to see what they have cooking up for this season.
