Today’s Top 10 is going to be kind of interesting. I’ve been enjoying football kits in a more fashion context recently and I wanted to use July to see what the communities opinion on them was. The community seems to love them because today’s roundup features a variety of football kits in today’s Top 10—
In case you missed it or are a new subscriber to the SNLetter, make sure to check out the Football Kits In Fashion newsletter, which is a breakdown of more or less every football adjacent kits by Palace. I think it’s one of my favorite newsletters I’ve written in a while, which is honestly making me want to do more specific breakdowns like this in the future — The Supreme football kits newsletter is up next.
I was also talking to a few of our paid subscribers and realized that not all of you are aware of The SNL Store List, so I wanted to take a second to give you a refresher about this great benefit that you receive when you become a paid sub. The list consists of over 100+ stores that are organized geographically that I like to use when shopping online. (I know that having that big of a list might sound insane, but different shops offer different things, and it’s great to have options!). Anyway, I just updated it with a bunch of new stores and I’ve also created a hyperlink on the top bar of the SNL substack for easy access!
One of my favorite items from Stussy in a long time — the coolest thing about this knit is the perforated swirls that run all the way around the bottom of the shirt. Not many people know this yet but I’m working on launching a store of my own with a few friends and this shirt will be available on the Testé website as part of Drop 1 very soon. Follow the page and stay tuned as I talk about this project in more detail soon ;)
9. NIKE AIR TUNED MAX CREAM
Add some mesh to the shoe and it’s a wrap for me. Many people seem to think that these are trying to bite on the current ASICS trend, but I’m here to tell you these have been around since 99 so… This particular colorway is looking good though, and I’m a fan of the subtle metallic green that hangs around the back of the shoe. These have already dropped so the only real way to get these is through the secondary market!
8. CRTZRTW TALISMO FOOTBALL JERSEY
It’s football kit time — first up we have this pink Talismo kit from CRTZ, which comes in a very simple design but that’s exactly what I like about it. No sponsors, name, or number, just a simple logo and that’s it. Plus, pink is a hot color right now so this was a no-brainer.
7. AIME LEON DORE x NEW BALANCE 860V2
Happy to see the New Balance 860v2 getting the love it deserves. I think these would be perfect for some proper physical activity as the 860v2 model is extremely comfortable. With that being said, I’m excited to see how people will style these in a more fashionable context.
6. PALACE MULTI OPTION JERSEY
These jerseys from Palace’s Summer 2020 collection are what really sparked my recent interest in football kits. After discovering these I went into the deep end of the Palace archives to rediscover their vast range of jersey designs — so good!
5. KITH x ASICS GT-2160
KITH x ASICS might seem like two simple colorways that could have been general releases, but that’s just the way collabs are now. I don’t think it’s a bad thing though, if two brands want to release something more simple in an exclusive colorway then why not? These two colors are solid, and the GT-2160 deserves all the love.
4. SUPREME x EMILIO PUCCI SOCCER JERSEY
I’ve already started my work on the Supreme Football Kit newsletter and the Emilio Pucci collab was one the first kits that I ended up starting with. Really enjoying the asymmetric pattern on this jersey.
3. SCENES NY VINTAGE FOOTBALL JERSEYS
Based out of NY, Scenes specializes in sourcing vintage kits, shorts and all football-related garments all in one place. Pieces come equipped with Scenes branding for that personal touch. Jerseys above are just a small selection from their last kit drop. Give them a follow and stay tuned for their future drops.
2. VARIAS TATU TEAM JERSEYS
Tattoo artist Varias dropped these two insane jerseys in very limited quantities and I’m extremely disappointed that I slept on this drop — fingers crossed because I’m begging for a restock.
1. DIME FOOTBALL KITS
We cannot omit Dime when we’re talking about football kits in fashion. Their jersey archive isn’t as big as the others but they’ve already earned their own spot in the conversation with these styles — the SNL community thinks so as well considering that these ended up getting the highest amount of engagement on IG this month, earning the #1 spot in the July Top 10. Hoping to see more football-adjacent pieces from Dime in the future!
Dying for those dime jerseys to restock
