I’m always excited whenever I get a chance to discuss a brand from Canada. It’s a creative hub that is filled with a lot of talent and amazing brands, and one of those brands is Libero. The people behind it are great, I really enjoy the brand identity, and the clothes remind us why some of us got into fashion in the first place—It’s about family, it’s about a story, it’s about putting your own view on items and clothes you grew up with, or maybe clothes you’ve always wanted but couldn’t get at the time.
What I’m trying to say is, fashion at its core is about having fun, and the fact that everyone sees something different allows us to connect to the clothes in whatever way we feel is right. But enough about all that, let’s get down to business and take a deeper look at Libero’s FW22 collection, which just dropped on their site today.

LIBERO FW22
Libero, founded by Adam Appugliesi, focuses on reinventing timeless designs that garner the expression of one’s identity, and they do this with the help of friends and family. Their newest collection gives us a glimpse into Adam’s world by reimagining the clothes he saw worn by his father for the past 20 years. I think the description written by Adam for this campaign will explain the thoughts behind this collection better than I will:
This collection is about the clothes I’ve seen my dad wear for the past 20 years.
Every morning he would wake up before the sun, put on a pair of dark wash denim, and throw on the same steel-toe boots. He never wanted to look good - but it wasn’t about looking good. It was about getting the job done and providing for his family. Keeping him warm in the cold winter months.
Coats that took a beating but looked better the more he wore them, denim that softened with wear, sweaters that stretched a bit at the elbows.
Wearing these pieces is going to be a lot of fun, they are versatile which makes their integration into your wardrobe as seamless as it can be. Allowing these pieces to age in a way that’s unique to you is what will give clothes like this longevity. The chore coat and the fleece anorak have to be my favorites: the waxed cotton is going to age in a way that’s going to have you wearing this coat nonstop. The colors will shift as you wear this more and more, which will define the coat’s personal vibe and feel all depending on how you wear it. The fleece comes in a really nice blue, and what I really like about it is the fact that the collar has no snaps or zippers, it’s just stiff enough to hold by itself while remaining comfortable.
One of the best things about this brand is that everything is handmade in Canada and is often sewn by a 79-year-old Italian lady—crazy!! That type of love and care is rare to find in a garment these days, and for that, it makes Libero special. When you’re searching for well-crafted handmade garments that aren’t riddled with logos then a brand like Libero will be one of the first places you should look. Thank you again to the Libero squad for making this newsletter happen! Check out their full collection, follow them on Instagram, and keep a close eye as Libero continues to grow.
