Favorite moments from Paris Fashion Week
A look at new collections from Umbro, ROA, Paratodo, Rice Nine Ten and more!
I’m back in freezing-cold Montreal after a hectic week in Paris for fashion week. I got a chance to see a lot of new collections coming later this year—which we’ll talk about in a second—visit some events and catch up with old friends. Even though I saw an array of clothes, there was still so much stuff I didn’t have a chance to look at because of the timing, but still, there’s a lot of stuff that we can still go through today.
One of the things I did notice is how a lot of brands are going back into their archives to refresh old styles in a new way. Menswear is still having a strong moment right now, and it seems we’re going to keep that going into the fall of this year. I’m talking about long coats, great shirting, leather footwear, and a bunch more. There was also a great focus on performance gear this season. I can talk about this all day, though, but why not just show you? Here’s a breakdown of what I saw this week, what releases I’m excited about and more.
ROA FW25
Probably one of my personal favorite collections I saw this week. I’m a huge sucker for technical outerwear gear, and ROA continues to push their designs forward that keep things fresh and exciting. The return of the old Vibram sole on many of their classic shoe models was a great highlight that had a lot of people talking. We can also expect a bunch of new models to hit the shelves sometime later this year. While the footwear is strong, they are continuing to pump their apparel line, which seems to be getting better and larger with each new collection.
UMBRO FW25
This is a collection that everyone was waiting for. Last year was a huge one for them, and it looks like it’s about to be another great season. Football inspiration is still the main focus behind the designs. I’m hoping that accessibility is going to be better, though, as the items from past collections ended up selling too quickly for most people to get a proper chance to cop. A lot of cool outerwear, specifically a lot of pullover that I am really into. Ripped shorts, great embroidered headwear and as well as a bunch of great football-inspired jerseys all made their mark in FW25.
PARATODO FW25
The homies from Philadelphia showed for the first time in Paris. A huge moment for the brand, and I was beyond hyped for them. The people behind it are great, and I just want to see them win. The new collection is a continuation of its ethos, which is an explosion of color through its unique selection of fabrics that stand on their own. I got to see a lot of stuff this week, and I could honestly say that this brand really solidified its position uniquely. Plus, for made-in-USA products that are great quality and are priced well, it’s just too good to pass up.
RICE NINE TEN FW25
I freaked out when I heard that Rice Nine Ten was showing in Paris. I remember finding this brand on IG when they had 400 followers and then posting about them on SNL, and the rest is history. Super proud of them, it’s only up from here. Getting to see everything in person was an absolute pleasure. Insanely well-made knits all across the board, the quality doesn’t disappoint. While the brand is knit-focused, they did introduce some leathers and other items to their roster this season—that leather long coat is a banger. Nice heavyweight leather that has been treated to give it that vintage look and feel.
PUMA ARCHIVE EVENT
This event was honestly really cool. In collaboration with Hartcopy and Inside Tag, the two had curated a vintage archive of past Puma models from the early 2000s—I’m big on archiving, so being able to see all of these rare models all in one space was really cool. You can check out what shoes were featured at this event over on the Hartcopy Instagram page here.
Alongside the archive event was an installation for Puma’s new Mostro collection, which featured new styles and collaborations from brands like Slam Jam. Honestly, I think the revival of this model is pretty dialled in considering what’s going on in the footwear space right now—the Mary Jane Mostros are insanely cute, the mule version might be a solid choice for footwear around the house, and the classic Mostro isn’t all that bad either. I got a pair myself, and the build plus leather quality was pretty surprising. In a good way.
EVERYTHING ELSE
That’s just the tip of the iceberg of what I saw this week. I want to maximize space to show you as much content as possible today, so I have to keep this next section brief. No release dates yet, but you can expect this stuff to drop sometime later this year.
