Fall Heat With 3sixteen
Taking a look at FW22 with 3sixteen, featuring a variety of great pieces that will get you ready for fall.
The search for layers is finally upon us! I figured a good way for us to start transitioning towards the layer discussion is to highlight a collection that I’m currently really enjoying—I’m talking about 3sixteen’s FW22 collection.
Recently I was fortunate enough to connect with Andrew from 3sixteen, who gave me a chance to check out some of the pieces from their FW22 collection in person. In today’s newsletter, we are going to break down my favorite items as well as share a few words from the 3sixteen team about their favorites.
Shout out to the team at 3sixteen for giving me a chance to see this collection early and share my thoughts on it!
Be sure to check out the full FW22 lookbook on their site here.
Part 1 of FW22 is available to buy now on the 3sixteen website.
OUTERWEAR
It’s time to start thinking about our jacket options and I have to say my eyes are locked in on the first jacket—in collaboration with Crescent Down Works, this has to be one of my favorite pieces from the collection. I’ve been in the mood to find something green for my jacket this year, and Crescent and 3sixteen ended up nailing this piece. I’m very particular about my hood, so it’s good to see that the team went with a more snug approach to the fit, and keeping it simple in terms of design is always the best option for me.
If the long game is more your style, then the wool coat will be the best option for you. Simple versatility is probably the best thing you can have in a jacket—Considering how many layers I wear with my jackets, it’s always good to have a jacket/coat that will match well with everything else in my wardrobe.
SHIRTS
I don’t think I have to explain myself here… Shirts are hot and they aren’t going anywhere soon, especially fire to choose from these days. While the entire collection is so well-rounded, the shirts take the spotlight here.
I got to see this one in person and have to say that there’s just something about hand embroidered graphics that just hits the spot—The graphic is based on cutouts found from an image of Henri Matisse’s studio. The photo features a particular cutout with flowers, and when the team ended up seeing this photo originally, they ended up being inspired to use it in their FW22 collection—love hearing stories like these!!
This next shirt is based on the classic 50’s lounge style, featuring a box cut, and an open collar. This one is just so good I wouldn’t even want to layer it with anything else—I need the people to truly appreciate that shadow plaid. I also really like the use of pearl shank buttons, which is a tiny detail, but it takes this shirt to a whole different level.
That’s not all for shirts, as a bunch of other amazing styles and colorways will be available throughout the season.
KNITS
Whipping out our knitted staples is arguably the best moment of layering season. 3sixteen didn’t shy away from flexing their strengths in their knit lineup and it shows. Simplicity is key and I think that’s why I enjoy this brand as a whole—focus on the fabrics and good shapes, and the rest will speak for itself.
I said this a while ago—I can’t find the tweet now, but just believe me, ok?—but we need more knits with zippers, because why not? I’m so hyped to see that one ended up making this collection, featuring a blend of alpaca and merino wool, so you know the cozy game is going to be strong.
I’ve been on the hunt for a simple yet well-fitting sweater recently, and I think I found the one. Available in both natural and navy, the Cotton Crewneck was created using Pima cotton, which is perfect if you’re looking for something more solid while maintaining that incredibly soft factor—that neckline is insane btw!!
We also need to mention the other great knits that will be available in this year’s collection. I think one of the best things here is the variety of shapes and styles being used across this collection, and the knits are a perfect example of that.
There’s a whole lot more to this collection that I won’t be able to cover today, so definitely take a look at the lookbook here, and make sure to check out part 1 of FW22 which just dropped today.
Enough about my opinion about this collection—I wanted to see what the favorites were within the 3sixteen team, and this is what they had to say:
