Fall Gear with Estudio Niksen
Taking a quick trip to the shop to check out my favorite items from the recent Fall/Winter collection.
Today we’re going outside to visit the Estudio Nisken office to check out their latest FW24 collection, I’ll be sharing my thoughts and building a few outfits using the pieces from the drop! The brand has been working on its mainline, which includes numerous trips to South Korea to learn and research a specific genre of clothing while focusing on the manufacturing process in person to bring their pieces to life.
Fans of a more baggy and cropped look will be right at home with Estudio’s FW24 collection. The drop is already live on their website, so you can peep that in full, we’re talking denim, knits, outerwear, and more. I wanted to highlight some of my favorite items that stuck out to me during my recent visit to their studio.
Starting with the knits, which come in a selection of beautiful colorways. For the fit you can expect a bit more of a cropped cut with double pockets that are tied together in a nice soft knit that is going to be a lot of fun to wear on its own or layer underneath your favorite jacket. I’ve said this before but let me say it again — every knit that has a zipper should be a double zipper. I don’t know why but I just prefer it that way, it’s a small detail that goes a long way for me, so I’m hyped on that.
A bunch of new wide-leg denim options have also hit the shelves for this drop. Happy to see a slight taper at the bottom of the leg that should create some nice stacking on the shoes rather than just swallowing the entire shoe — baggy pants look way better in my opinion if they stack well on the shoes. Especially when you’re trying to rock a low profile footwear. I don’t need all of that extra drag on the ground, you know?
An interesting detail about these is they come with an elastic waistband at the back. Something I haven’t really seen before, but I was kind of into this detail. Allows for stretchability, which translates into an easier time getting them to fit just right.
Some raw denim options are also available for all of my true denim heads out there, which is a nice little addition — I know a bunch of you have been asking me where to get wide-leg raws, so this is it!
The collection will also have a couple of puffer styles, which are filled with 80% duck down and 20% duck feather — extremely warm and great for those living in colder climates this season. The hardware on these jackets might be my favorite. Just really nice zippers and buttons, which might not be much of a talking point for most, but as a fashion nerd like myself, I geek out on that stuff.
Another personal favorite of mine is the double-pleated jacket in this unique cotton-wool weave. Fits a bit wider with a more cropped fit, but you already knew that. The weave is pretty thick, giving this piece some decent weight. Favorite part has to be the custom Estudio Niksen-branded buttons.
Vests! I’m usually not a vest guy, but these reversible ones might make me act out. A simple, light piece that will be really fun to use as a layer. The stitching detailing on this is subtle, but that’s what I like about it. Pick from three different colors, which come with their own paired color fleece finish — it’s all about versatility, and having an item that can be worn in several ways just gives it that extra life that will keep things exciting in your daily rotation.
Cozy boys and girls, this next one is for you. Full sweatsuits will also be part of this collection, which come in a relaxed baggy fit and are available in multiple colorways. The cotton is soft on the skin which is arguably one of the most important things of any hoodie or sweatpants — I need to remain cozy, and the only way to do it is to feel like I am inside of a cloud.
The coolest part about the sweatpants has to be the pleats — not a detail you see every day, so that’s cool.
These are just some of the great things that have dropped as part of their Fall Winter collection, and I definitely suggest checking out their full range on their website. Because of the nature of the brand, many of the items run in two sizes, but I would recommend checking their sizing chart to ensure that the stuff fits properly. Overall, great stuff made in Korea that is available at a very reasonable price point.
To close us off I built some outfits using the pieces from their collection to display how easily you can mix and match the different items to create your ideal look. Lots of colors and the lack of branding will make for an easy experience to incorporate these items into your daily life.
